Steve Bellone is an American politician who currently serves as the County Executive of Suffolk County, New York. Bellone was born on March 12, 1969, in Babylon, New York. He completed his education at North Babylon High School, where he was a star athlete.

After high school, Bellone attended the State University of New York at Albany, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He later obtained a law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1994.

Before entering politics, Bellone served as a prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office for over a decade. He was elected Town Supervisor of Babylon in 2001 and served in that role until he was elected County Executive in 2011.

As Suffolk County Executive, Bellone has focused on improving the county's economy, protecting public safety, and preserving the environment. He has also taken a strong stance on gun control and worked to combat the opioid epidemic in the county.

Bellone has been re-elected twice since first taking office in 2012, with his most recent re-election in 2019.
